Soul Grinder of Nurgle proxy / Glottkin type business

Recently I've been busy putting washes and glazes on this ugly brute. Lahmian Medium is my new jam.

I put him together a while back, and there he sat, on my desk, under-coated and sulky looking. In the pictures, I can see big joins that I'm not happy about, but hey-ho. I've subsequently become much better at the application of liquid green stuff, so I hope I won't have this type of thing to contend with in the future.

As it stands, I'm happy with the skin tones. Less than happy with the horns though.

  1. That is a beautifully ugly bastard. Great work on this beast.

I like that you stayed away from the strong greens everyone is doing and did you own thing. He looks so much better for it.

    1. Thanks Thor - it was a slow but quite simple process, and quite enjoyable to see the tones developing.
I admit to enjoying seeing a bit of typical green Nurgle when it is done well, but I do prefer stuff that strays from the path a bit!

  2. Skin colours are very well done sir. Agree that the horns and teeth could get a little something to them to contrast better. Either way, I like him very much.

    1. Thanks Dai. Horns are one of many weak areas in my limited skill set. I could do with looking up some tutorials on how to do them well...

  4. Fucking hell, that is one grim looking dude - you've nailed it with this fella, the palette is perfect! Definitely reckon you could go lighter with the horns if you wanted to though.

Lahmian medium is so rad, really useful for those flesh-tones on large areas!

  6. I bought the Glotkin this past weekend and while I know my painting skills aren't up to it yet, I can hardly wait just to put the beastly blob together! Personally though, I will stick with the greens, but only because green is one of my favourite colours and such I have every shade going in my paints collection!
You've done a great job and I will certainly draw inspiration from your efforts when I eventually pluck up the courage to tackle my own.

    1. Thanks Daniel. Look forward to seeing it! One bit of advice, some of the joins need a bit of attention with liquid green stuff. You can see where I didn't do this really clearly on the back of the legs. I'll make sure to follow your blog when I get back from Croatia at the weekend!

  7. Moving home may be very difficult for a common individual. At half the cost that a new purchase of home will entail, the homeowners can make improvements in their home through a home improvement loan. As in the regular loans, the borrower can repay the home improvement loan in several instalments. It is easier to pay a part of the loan than the entire loan at once. The home improvement loan is employed to give a new look to the home by creating extensions, changing the flooring, creating new interiors, and undertaking repairs. Generally, homeowners draw home improvement loans for their own home. However, the loan is available for tenants who want to make improvements in the home they are residing.
