Necromunda: House Cawdor looted Ambot

Seemingly, I couldn't resist the lure of splitting a box of Ambots with my mate Andy GI.  These things look great.

At the time of building and painting, I'd already gotten my Cawdor gang finished. I thought it would be cool to give them some heavy support in the form of an Ambot.

I opted to go with a heavily corroded and weathered look for this machine, as I figured that a Cawdor gang wouldn't have the credits for one that was in better condition... and I thought a colour scheme such as this would sit really well in harmony with the dull browns of the gang itself...

Necromunda: House Cawdor gang

So in my absence from the blogosphere (well from miniature related blogging at least) I managed to complete a project. That project is my first Necromunda gang; a gang of House Cawdor.

I opted to dodge using the heads supplied with the kit for some reason and instead went for head swaps that utilise heads from the Empire Flagellants box (or whatever box it is now known as under the aegis of Age of Sigmar - I mean I could look it up, but that involves effort. In fact by the time I'd written this, I could've done it, but now I'm kind of committed to not doing it!!).  I felt that these heads added an additional air of menace to models that I felt had a rather medieval goes black-powder aspect to them - much like the Empire range I guess - only with some nasty looking makeshift, unsafe, jury-rigged weapons and knock-off augmetics.  I found also that some of the hooded heads from the Frostgrave Cultists also fit the bill quite well here...

It's about the first time I've felt like I've really nailed the look of what I imagine something to be like in my mind, but in model form...  Anyway, here's the goods...

Pox Walkers- quick and dirty

Salutations, pals. I took a quick and dirty approach to razzing out some pox walkers. Well, it should've been quick anyway. In reality, I grabbed a bit of time here and there over a couple of months, and this is what came out of it.  Apologies for the egregious over-exposure from camera flash on the majoirty of these, but the lighting was terrible.  The first 4 were taken without flash, so the bits with gloss varnish in the mix, are less offensive. If I get round to it, I'll try for some better pictures soon...

Spot a guest appearance from Mol as a pox walker. I even managed to get his bionic arm and tentacles in there for added dynamic realism. Norf!
