The Cvlt of the Crustacae: genestealer cult part 3

I've managed to busy myself when I've had a spare half hour or so, and managed to finish off the rest of the Genestealer Cult models from Deathwatch: Overkill. Those being the aberrants, the genestealer primus, and the power behind the throne, the genestealer magus.  Pretty happy with how they've turned out...

These models are amazing to work with, so if you are on the fence about taking the plunge, just go for it. All hail the Galactic Maw of the Crustacae etc. etc.

I don't really have too much more to say at the moment really, apart from I'm trying to resist expanding the cult congregation for the time being!

The Patriarch of the Crustacae: Genestealer Cults part 2

Good afternoon cyber-buddies. I managed to finish off my Patriarch for the Cvlt of the Crustacae. I decided to try and pimp the gruesome fellow out with some slime strings. I think it turned out pretty well, considering...

...I used my wife's hair (taken from her hairbrush in secret for nefarious purposes) as the armature for the slime. She now thinks I'm more disgusting than she previously did, which I'll count as a personal achievement.

I think the slime has a certain characteristic of toad spawn strings about it. I used Tamiya Smoke, initially, and then applied Nurgle's Rot over the top. Bob's your uncle, your dad's a genestealer, bish bash bosh. Job's a good 'un.

The Cvlt of the Crustacae: Genestealer Cult part 1

Yep, I'm back. With a new faction: Genestealer Cults. This one, I've decided to call the Cvlt of the Crustacae...

You may have noticed that I've been quiet for a while on the old gaming blog front. I've been pretty busy, though with one thing and another, Primarily, launching a collaborative music webzine, http://apathyandexhaustion.com/ - it's worth checking out if you are into punk rock, 'proper' emo, hardcore, indie rock that type of thing.

Back to the business at hand, I've not written any background for them as yet. The miniatures are all from the Deathwatch: Overkill boxed game... so far...

Soul Grinder of Nurgle / Dark Mechanicum Iron Strider

Good day to you all.

Wow. That was formal.

Not too much to say on this one, but a goodly while ago, I got hold of a Maggoth Lord second hand from Linguiformean (Lee).  It kind of sat around partially on the sprue for a while, partially off.

I eventually, started taking a closer look at it and put it together apart from the rider, which is when i hit on the idea of seeing if the top half of one of those Kataprhon servitors would fit in the hole. Turn out with a minimal amount of sanding down, it will indeed fit. Quite well as it turns out.

Add in a few green stuff cables, and Bob, as they allegedly say, is your weird and pervy uncle.
