Plague Bearers - first 7 completed

It seems like I've been neglecting this blog recently.  Real life has been getting in the way. I'm not going to go on about it, but it's been tough and stressful recently, and we've had a bit of good news today.

Right... to business. My regular readers will probably remember me painting up a plague bearer a good while ago.  You can see "it" here.  That was over 8 months ago. Good grief.

Anyway, That plague bearer now has 6 mates, taking them up to a magical 7. All hail the Plague Father.

I've been trying to have a bit of an experiment with glazes and washes, both separately and mixed together, and these guys are the results, basically. Some of them have come out better than others, I'll readily admit.
There are, however, a fair few more in the pipeline, so what I've learned from these guys, I've been trying to improve on.  When I post them up in about 15 years time, I'll let you judge...

  1. Very nice work. I like the skin and the bloody wounds.

  2. Nice, horrible work, man. The diseased fleshy tones make a good alternative to the more conventional greens.

  3. Cheers Chris. More to follow - including the fat one, who is currently in progress!

  5. The plague bearer with the bug eyes is definitely my favorite. Is that a standard head for the,? If so, I can't believe I've never noticed it before.

    1. Yeah, it's one of the standard heads in the new plastic set.
